Raising funds for Part 2

By fullcircle

It has been a while since we have had any activities related to the part 1 or developing the part 2. I– Rokafella–had gone through a crisis in Februry of this year and put everything on hold til I had a place to call home again. Now that things are more stable we can get back on track with the production of a part 2 which would take us back to Chicago to check back with Lady Champ and introduce Chicago local B girl Eren. We are pushing a day of Fund raising on Nov 28th and hope to raise $5000 to cover the Chicago chapter including travel and editing costs. Donations will be received online via Paypal with the email fullcirclesoul@hotmail.com

We do have some preliminary footage shot by the original editor  Melissa Ulto from a prior Bgirl event at the Bronx Museum where we captured a battle and interviews featuring Newark’s MC/Teaching artist Purple Haze and B girl Eren.  We hope to get a trailer up that will show the new direction the part 2 of the film is going and if possible, screen it at a film festival in the Spring and continue to build this documentary for you and the world.

There is also a Facebook campaign if you prefer do it that way and have your donation matched by the Linda and Bill Gates Foundation via this link https://www.facebook.com/donate/183386158883240/

Thank you for your ongoing support especially to those who have donated, checked in to see if there have been any activities coming up, have coordinated their own screenings and/or ordered the film for Universities and contributed to this projecrt so far. I am grateful to our global family pitching in to help our culture to thrive. I have been inspired by such phenomenal women in my life and want you to know about their journeys too. We get empowered and then we can go ahead and empower others! With love and sisterhood, I share this project with you.

“All The Ladies Say” is a film that highlights the lives of six iconic female street dancers from San Jose, Atlanta, Miami and Chicago, who have carved a niche in the physically challenging, male dominated breakdance world. Discussions about motherhood, sexual tension, femininity versus masculinity and the rap industry/mainstream images are a few of the themes explored by the documentary’s main characters. International dancers not only make appearances but also add their two cents about life as a B Girl in the Hip-hop world.
